Therapies

Occupational therapy helps people do ordinary everyday things to make their lives better, easier or richer. It could be making a sandwich, assessing for appropriate equipment or making the home more accessible.

Occupational therapists help a person explore and identify goals that are important in their life. To achieve these goals occupational therapy can assist with:
• Personal care skills
• Sleep patterns
• Life skills
• Learning and memory
• Social skills and relationship development
• Home assessments and assistive technology
• Functional assessments and reports

Our occupational therapist works with people to improve their daily living skills and increase their participation in daily activities and their independence.

HSA’s occupational therapist has been involved in assessing and making recommendations in all programs HSA facilitates, and continuously works with participants and support staff to improve individual outcomes.
